SUMITOMO CHEMICAL

For Sumitomo Chemicals, we designed and built their new offices in one of the buildings at Park7 in Brussels. After an intensive pitch, the Sumitomo team chose our concept as their new home base: a design that seamlessly weaves the company’s rich Japanese traditions together with the local Brussels identity.

Warmth, tranquility, and refinement form the core of this new work environment. The shape of the Sumitomo logo, based on the traditional Japanese igeta structure (the wooden frame around a water well), is subtly echoed in walls, floors, and detailing. The result is a balanced interior where culture, craftsmanship, and modern functionality reinforce one another. Sustainability also played an important role throughout the process: wherever possible, we recovered and reintegrated existing furniture.
